A water feature can enhance the theme of a garden, as is the case with a cascading stream through a woodland setting, or a multi-tiered fountain as the focal point of a Spanish courtyard.
Water brings to the garden movement, reflection, and sound. Water can attracts birds, wildlife, and masks the sound of undesirable noise. Water features may be pools, streams, fountains, waterfalls, or birdbaths, and may or may not mimic nature. Some water features capture the spirit of a natural stream or pond, while others may celebrate the lively aspect of water with cascading, splashing, and spurting fountains of traditional or contemporary design.
